Abstract

The topic of water security in Iraq is one of the challenging issues that has received increased attention after 2003. This interest is due to many reasons, including the fact that Iraq is a downstream country and all its rivers originate from abroad, in addition to the absence of international agreements and treaties that regulate the issue of sharing water shares, as well as seasonal changes and the impact of natural factors on the drying up rivers and lakes and other reasons that pose major challenges to Iraq’s water security.
