Abstract

The geographical location of the Indian Ocean represents a focal point in the eyes of strategic studies, as it connects three continents which are Asia, Africa and Australia, as well as those lands in which the seas, bays and straits are (the Red Sea, the Arabian Sea, the Andaman Sea) and the bays (the Arabian Gulf, the Gulf Oman, the Gulf of Aden, the Gulf of Aqaba, the Gulf of Suez) and the straits (Strait of Hormuz, the Strait of Bab al-Mandab, the Strait of Malacca, the Strait of Sunda, the Strait of Mozambique) which is a point of contact between the countries of the world, and this, the Indian Ocean formed a point of competition and conflict between the major countries, especially the states The United States of America which was able to object to the imposition of its military presence in the region, as well as the role of the current China, which seeks to link the countries of the region to the contracts of the Chinese economy through agreements and aid, In order to secure its interests in the Indian Ocean, China has sought to build a naval fleet and establish military bases that enable it to do so, and India, on the other hand, represents one of the countries that have problems with surrounding countries, which also seeks to protect its interests by strengthening its military activities in the Indian Ocean, so armaments in the region would affect Asian security.
