This research deals with the concept of digital democracy and its foundations through the mechanisms provided by the tremendous revolution in the field of technology, which has brought about qualitative shifts in consolidating and strengthening the values and essence of democracy. It is worth noting that the concept of digital democracy is not a new concept of democracy, but rather an expression of modern mechanisms and means for democratic practice, foremost among which are freedom of opinion and expression, opinion polls, political participation in making decisions related to citizens’ lives, narrowing the gap between citizens and politicians, protecting the rights of minorities in a diverse society, creating a broad virtual space and capabilities for political opposition, and achieving integrity, transparency, and accuracy in managing the electoral process.
